Splatterpaint pencil can craft

Bored and looking for something to do? Me too. Here's a fun craft you can do. You will need

an empty metal can like this
These are delicous by the way
Acrylic paint

multiple paint brushes or an old toothbrush

something to cover the floor (If you're working on the floor)

I originally aimed for a galaxy themed design so I painted the can black. If your can is a cylinder this can be a problem. Turns out the black quickly fades and gravity makes the paint slide off if you paint the can vertically.
Gravity is not my friend

Tip for people with a lot of spare time: Set the can down horizontally (The opposite of the picture on the right) and paint small with a lot of paint and long brush strokes. Wait for paint to dry before turning and painting other sections.

Tip for people who are impatient: Just use a lot of paint and think about life while repainting because gravity is working against you.

Next put bright colors on another plate. For this project I mixed glitter, glitter-paint, and acrylic paint. Dab the paintbrush in one color and point the brush toward the can. Run your fingers across the bristles to create a cool splatter paint design.

TIP: For me the paint splattered everywhere but the can for the first few tries and the floor wasn't very happy about that. Experiment with pointing the brush at different angles to see what works. Or use a square container.

Your fingers will look something like this
